Dermal fillers are soft injectable gels that rely on hyaluronic acid – a natural sugar molecule found in the body – as their base. This synthetic version of hyaluronic acid is designed specifically for aesthetic treatments, serving as a filler agent that can be used to minimise unwanted lines and wrinkles, add volume and contour to various parts of the face.

Should you need to cancel the appointment you should do this in no less than 48 hours, your booking fee will NOT be refunded but can be transferred to a new booking within 2 weeks of the original appointment and can only be changed once.

  • How do Dermal Fillers work?
    Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected into the skin containing hyaluronic acid, a naturally occuring compound found in the skin tissue that gives your skin structure and hydrates and plumps the skin. Dermal fillers can address various concerns such as hollow cheeks, thin lips, lines and wrinkles, and enhancing facial contours. You’ll normally see immediate results which can last for over a year, depending on the area or filler used and every patient’s lifestyle factors.
  • What are the benefits?

  • Are there any side effects?
    The most common side effects cans include bruising, swelling, tenderness, itching and redness. All common side effects should subside within 72hrs.
  • Are the results instant?
    Yes, although some swelling may occur which can take around 4 weeks to settle.
  • What is the aftercare advice?
    Stay away from extreme temperatures Keep your skin clean Do not rub or touch the areas that were injected Report any unusual side effects as soon as possible Avoid exercise for the first 24 hours after your treatment Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours after your treatment Avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours before or after your treatment
  • Is there anything important I should know before my appointment?
    2 Days Prior to Injections Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any “anti-aging” products. Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or using hair removal cream on the area to be treated. Do start taking Arnica two days prior to the procedure. (This is not required, but it will help to lessen bruising.) Please ensure that you: Have no cold sores/ oral herpes Have had no recent bacterial infections or antibiotic treatment Have had no recent sickness Have had no recent or upcoming invasive dental work a month pre or post dermal filler treatment Have overall good dental health Are not pregnant/trying to get pregnant/not breastfeeding Have had no recent invasive skin treatments (in the same treatment area as your proposed dermal filler treatment area) four weeks pre or post treatment Know the name of any previous dermal filler product that you have had injected in the same area previously 6 months clear of cancer with a doctor’s note Autoimmune disease such as lupus requires a doctor’s note It is best practice to refrain from taking Alcohol, any painkiller medication that contains Ibuprofen (not directly prescribed by your doctor) and Vitamins supplements including; St. John’s Wort, Fish oils, Garlic, Gingko Biloba, Vitamins A-E, these may all contribute to bruising and are therefore best avoided for 7 days pre-treatment.
