ANTI WRINKLE FAQs
Anti-wrinkle injections are on the frontline of anti-ageing treatments.
Overtime lines such as Crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles and even the bunny lines at the top of the nose may develop on your face because of many factors, such as ageing, sun exposure, dehydration, smoking, gravity and poor nutrition.
They are even created by your own facial expressions due to constantly contracting from laughing, smiling and frowning.
But by carefully injecting Botulin toxin A (which is a naturally occurring protein) into particular muscles in the face, can achieve a well-rested and more youthful look which is subtle, yet incredibly effective. I offer free top-up on this treatment if needed.

The anti-wrinkle injections work by injecting small doses of Botulin Toxin A under the skin into specifically targeted areas of muscle which then blocks the nerve impulses causing the muscles to relax.
That in turn, reduces the appearance of lines and eliminates wrinkles to produce a look that is fresh and more youthful. The effects will begin to appear within 2-7 days of the treatment with the maximum effect at around 2-3 weeks.
You can carry on with your daily activities right after the procedure.
There is no downtime to this treatment though aftercare is advised.
Common side effects can include; headache, minor bruising, drooping eyelid that may last 2 weeks, mild swelling/redness for up to 48 hours post treatment.
Less common side effects can include; flu-like symptoms, nausea, facial pain, redness at the injection site, weakness in the muscle injected, reduced blinking.
An anti-wrinkle injectable are administered with a very fine needle, and takes only a few seconds. It’s a tiny prick of the needle for a moment, and most patients tolerate it very well. Several injections are given into each concerning area.
It varies from person to person, but you can expect to see the results within 7 – 14 days as the muscle beneath the skin of the frown line relaxes.
Each person responds differently but typically speaking, anti-wrinkle injectables last between 3 to 4 months before the relaxing effect on the muscle starts to wear off.
If a top-up of botox is required then it must be administered between 2-4 weeks after initial treatment.

Hyaluronidase can be injected to remove dermal fillers when they have had any kind of undesirable outcome e.g. lumps, uneven appearance or even migration of the filler to a nearby area. Hyaluronidase (also referred to a Hyalase) is an enzyme that acts as a dispersion agent by breaking down hyaluronic acid through hydrolysis. It’s a naturally-occurring enzyme that is purified to dissolve dermal fillers. It is the best treatment for dissolving lip filler and reducing any lumps or puffiness associated with dermal filler in the face or body.
Dissolving filler is a very simple procedure. After the application of numbing cream to the target area around 1-6 injections of hyaluronidase is administered, after being diluted with saline, into the area where the filler needs to be dissolved. However, to proceed with this treatment a patch test on your forearm below your elbow is required beforehand as there is a risk of reaction and therefore the overall treatment time can take up an hour.
As with any treatment possible side effects may include. For this procedure the possible side effects may include coughing, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, increased heart beat, hives or welts or itching, though these generally resolve after a few days if any do happen to occur.
Hyaluronidase starts to work upon immediately upon injection although final result may take up to 2 weeks.
No, although there must be at least a 2 week time gap between filler dissolution and the administration of new dermal filler.
There is no real downtime to this procedure, but aftercare is advised as stated above.
